Born in New Orleans, Ms. Poorman has many years of acting, directing and film experience as well as judging theatrical competitions.  She led Davidson's production of An Experiment to the State Trumbauer competition in 2023, where it earned a Superior rating. 

Prior to Davidson HS, she taught Theatre Arts in North Carolina and Arkansas, where her productions and students won many awards including those from NCTC and Thespian Honor Society. Arkansas Thespians elected Poorman Theatre Educator of the Year in 2020.

Having missed the Gulf Coast, she, her husband and their dogs, LunaTrix and Stella, decided to move back to Mobile. Ms. Poorman is a former television news Anchor and Reporter including time at WKRG TV. She is thrilled to be teaching Theatre at her favorite high school - Davidson!
